RKIDs Events
The Performance Group traveled to the Friend's House retirement community on the first day of Spring March 20th. Their act, which was postponed from the prior Monday due to snow, got a lively audience. Chuck and Maureen again efficiently organized everyone with Kate singing and announcing, Pat, Evelyn, Marie, Sonja, Linda, Sharons P and C, Connie, Michelle, Bobbie, Tom, Emmett, and Bill assisted the audience volunteers with Every Man's Chance and the Siege of Ennis. The Friends rewarded us with cookies and punch after the show.

After class on Tuesdays, several RKIDs often gather at the Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg. This week the round table included Roger, Emmett, Marilyn O, Obie, Michelle, Jean, and Joe. Everyone is invited. Join us next week.
On April 1st, (this is not a joke) the RKIDs will once again gather at the Woodside Deli in Germantown for a Saturday brunch. No reservation is necessary.

Colleen knows how to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day better than anyone. This year she and some friends went to Savannah, Georgia, home of Kevin Barry’s pub and the second largest St. Patrick’s Day parade in the US. Although Colleen has not been seen since that weekend, word is she had a great time and IS alive to tell about it.

Several years ago Marilyn O read The #1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith and fell in love with Botswana, a landlocked, southern Africa country and the setting for the charming series of books. This led to a month-long trip to the area with Obie, Marilyn M, and Bobbie. On that trip they learned about Seretse Khama, the first democratically elected president (1966) of Botswana. A recent movie, A United Kingdom, features the highlights of this man’s life – especially the controversial marriage to an English woman, Ruth. Kathryn, Christine, and Marilyn O recently saw the film at the Bethesda Row theaters. Highly recommended.
