26 Ancient Order of Hibernians: Hurling Tournament Sponsor/Host: Ancient Order of Hibernians What: First annual Jack O’Brien Memorial Hurling Tournament. Jack worked tirelessly to promote Irish cultural affairs. This tournament is a celebration of his many accomplishments. Colleges and universities from across the East Coast will participate. We will try to take a look at Irish sports this month by also attending the Jack O’Brien Hurling Tournament at Catholic University on Oct 25 -26. Jack is Obie’s brother who died in Dec 2024. The tournament has been named in his honor. Stay tuned for other events related to sports. After being expelled from school for playing football for his country, fifteen-year-old Liam Brady travelled to London to join Arsenal, and soon became an indispensable part of their glorious 1970s team. Rightly considered one of the Republic of Ireland's best-ever footballers, he went on to enjoy successes with Juventus, Sampdoria and West Ham, as well as managing Celtic and Brighton and Hove.
