Clare Lancers Dancers

The Blackthorn Ceili Dancers honored the Ring of Kerry Irish Dancers at a festive Halloween Ceili on Friday, October 30th. Dancers (many in costume) filled McCathran Hall in Washington Grove and danced to the fabulous music provided by Philippe Varlet, Tina Eck, and Marc Glickman. Henry Marraffa Jr., a Gaithersburg City Councilman, presented a “Certificate of Recognition” to the RKIDs and praised us for our longevity. Citations from the 17th Legislative District and the Governor were also presented to our 25 year old group. It seems that everyone is excited about our 25th Anniversary!

Gift from the GWCC

The GWCC presented a beautiful autumn bouquet to the RKIDs in celebration of our anniversary. We all had a chance to enjoy it at the Blackthorn Ceili and again at class on Nov. 3. Then, we held a drawing and Toni was the grand winner. It’s fun to visualize the lovely arrangement gracing Toni and David’s mountainside home near Harpers Ferry. Thanks go out to the GWCC for adding to this festive year.

Stock Market

Sorry to report that Gerry got in trouble while in Williamsburg and had to spend time in the stocks. We hope to see her again when she’s set free.

Evelyn, taking a break from selling cookbooks, went to a family wedding in Boston.
