The 25th Anniversary Celebration Committee met on Nov. 16 and made lots of decisions about the Shrine Mont gala, set for May 20-22, 2016. Evan, Sandy, Ann Marie, Kate, Madelyn, Bill, Sharon P, Obie and Marilyn O were there.
The Steering Committee meeting at Sharon P’s on Monday, Nov. 30 was lively and interesting. We discussed a variety of issues. Those present were Bill, Madelyn, Roger, Marilyn O, Sonja, Tom, Pat G, and Hostess Sharon P (who served tea and some lovely yummies).
The ARC Light Cinemas didn’t know what hit them when seven Ring of Kerry Irish Dancers appeared in their lobby on a Wednesday afternoon in mid-November. (No they were not there to do a flash mob!) An employee had to help them get their tickets via a user-friendly computer terminal and then had to turn on the lights in the theater so they could find their assigned seats. MaryAnn had to be held back from crawling over an armrest. A nearby couple had to be encouraged to be in our group photo. It wasn’t a pretty sight, but still, Evan, Sonja, Bobbie, MaryAnn, Liz, Kevin, and Marilyn O enjoyed Brooklyn, devoured a yummy lunch in the eatery, and had a good discussion after the film. Stay tuned for the next outing.
After class on Nov 17th, Sandy, Evan, Dan, Kate, Chuck, Maureen, Roger (more on him below), Obie, and Marilyn O did NOT solve the world’s problems at the Dogfish Head Alehouse, but had a wonderful time laughing and hooting it up. Join us next time - when classes resume in January!
About Town
Roger skipped the Nov. 17 Irish dance class (bad) and was spotted at the Model Train Club meeting (good). And as mentioned above, he heroically managed to make it to the Dogfish later that night.Travel
David D finished his journey on the Camino de Santiago. The photos he shared on facebook have been very interesting. And Toni is in Dublin, meeting up with David.
Emma and Jerry were at their Bethany Beach home recently. By the way, they have offered to host some RKIDs next fall for our REELaxing at the Beach Weekend, Sept. 16 -18, 2016.
MaryAnn is on the road again. She spent Thanksgiving with her son and his family in Florida.
Convalescing

Sonja is nursing a pulled tendon in her knee; Marilyn O is nursing a couple surgeries where weird little things were removed.
Toni reported that Marieke’s husband, Willem, continues to improve. If all goes well with his latest round of chemotherapy, she hopes to return to class in January. We all look forward to seeing him up and about and Marieke at class.
