Club Events
A lively group gathered on Saturday, Jan. 9th for the monthly RKIDs Brunch at Bennigan’s in Clarksburg. Tom headed the table at one end and Bobbie at the other. In between were: Sonja, Kathryn, Judy, Jerry, Emma, Roger, Michelle, Larisa, Sharon P and Marilyn O. Put Saturday, Feb. 6th on your calendar now. Join the fun!!
Class was full of energy on Tuesday, Jan. 12. Four sets gathered during our Core Class and continued to work on the Clare Lancers Set. During the second class, three sets worked on the Plain Set. Our new logo was exhibited; invitations to our May 20-22 25thth Anniversary Celebration were distributed (see more below); and Sandy and Obie’s birthdays were acknowledged. Also, a friend of Nancy’s, Helen, came to observe the class. The lively class was followed by interesting conversation at the Dogfish Head Alehouse. There: Emmett, Marilyn O, Obie, Joe, Jean, and Roger.
The 25th Anniversary Committee gathered on Monday, Jan. 11th at the O’Brien’s to discuss final details of the celebration at Shrine Mont. This is an event you do not want to miss. May 20 – 22, 2016, Orkney Springs, Virginia (about 2¼ hours from the DC area). All the details are available at ringofkerrydancers.org. The Committee members are: Sharon P, Liz, Kevin, Madelyn, Bill, Michelle, MaryAnn, Kate, Obie, Sonja, Ann Marie R, Evelyn, Sandy, Evan, and Marilyn O. Bobbie is also working hard to prepare a special exhibit for the weekend.
Irish Events
On Sunday, Jan. 17th Obie and Marilyn’s grandson, Declan, will be performing during the DC St. Patrick’s Day Parade Fundraiser at the Harp and Fiddle Pub in Bethesda (flanagansharpandfiddle.com). Join them for an afternoon of music and fun entertainment. 3:30 – 7:00.
Travel
Kate and Dan O’C spent the weekend on Long Island visiting Kate’s cousins and a friend of her mother’s.
