 Travel

Rangers in Training
More Recruits

On a rainy day in June, Dan O’C, Kate, Marilyn O and Obie visited Assateague National Park near Ocean City. All four were quickly recruited (out of retirement) to become Rangers for the park system. They plan to introduce a new program, Irish Dancing Among the Ponies.

Chautauqua, NY

It’s summertime so Kathryn is on the go. She will be heading to Chautauqua at the end of the week. Marilyn O is going to Chautauqua, also. If you don’t know about it, check out ciweb.org.  It’s a magical place.

Nonagenarians
Bill and Madelyn have the video bug. They recently visited relatives in Schenectady, New York and Toronto, Ontario to film family stories.

MaryAnn, a Buffalo gal, visited her hometown for a reunion.

Bobbie was spotted at her beach house in Ocean View, Delaware.

On the weekends, Sonja and Tom have been traveling 45 minutes north to a campground where they have their RV parked.

 Convalescing

Kitty at Castle Donegal
RKIDs who went on the 2003 trip to Ireland will remember Liz Wall’s sister, Kitty, who joined our group. She added a lot to our journey. Liz reports that she is not doing too well right now and could use your kind thoughts and prayers.

Jean Woods is getting better and hopes to be able to travel in a couple weeks.

 Media

Books Read
Sing Street, about a boy growing up in Dublin during the 1980s who tries to escape his strained family life by starting a band, is now showing at Bethesda Row.

It doesn't measure up to The Commitments, one of Marilyn O's Top Ten, but the lead singer is engaging and the story (with the usual Church bashing and excessive drinking) is compelling.
