Parade Trophy

The first place winners in DANCE at the Gaithersburg 2016 Labor Day Parade were the Ring of Kerry Irish Dancers. We won a beautiful award from the City for our performance in this year’s parade. Sonja presented the trophy to class and called out the participants who made it happen: Emmett, Chris, Sharon C, Tom, Sonja, Sandy, Evan, Marieke, Marilyn O, Maureen, Chuck, Evelyn, Bill, Madelyn, and Larisa. We've been in it for many a year and never before been proclaimed a winner. Congratulations to the RKIDs for a job well done!

The final event of our 25th Anniversary year took place at Bethany Beach. Twenty-eight members of our club wound their way to the seaside village for a weekend of frolic, fun, friendship, and DANCE, called by Marilyn O. Accommodations for the weekend were provided by members who have beach houses and the food was catered by Mac’s Catering. Carol G and Bobbie provided happy hours with tasty appetizers and lively camaraderie. The participants were: Marilyn O and Obie (the ring leaders), Bobbie, Diane, Marieke, Willem, Sonja, Tom, Christine, Mary D, Bob S, Carol G, Emma, Jerry, Jean Wds, Joe, Kate, Dan O’C, Evelyn, Marie, Bill, Madelyn, Dan M, Nancy, Kathy, David M, and Emmett. As a special surprise, Sandy arrived with medal winner, Evan, who participated in the Dewey Beach Sprint Triathlon. While they weren't able to attend, Kevin and Liz generously provided St. Brendan's liqueur libations, as did Sharon P. with her ever-tasty soda bread. The weekend was a huge success and everyone left looking forward to next year’s REELaxing weekend. See more of the photos on our Facebook and Gallery pages.
